Anita Abriel is the international bestselling author of The Light After the War, Lana’s War, and A Girl During the War. She received a BA in English literature with a minor in creative writing from Bard College. Born in Sydney, Australia, she lives in California with her family. In this episode we discussed her most recent novel, The Life She Wanted, which is set in the Gilded Age. We discussed the yearning her main character felt and the rich and lush settings of her books. Her career as Anita Hughes, with a couple of these books making it to film. We also touched on the impetus to move to historical fiction and balancing her romantic fiction career and historical fiction career.
